Production Supervisor

Description/Job Summary

To supervise and motivate Production employees to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed, and production goals are met

Responsibilities/Duties

•Ensure that daily operations are safe and effective
•Daily monitoring and reporting of Key Performance Measurements
•Evaluate, recommend and implement changes to materials, equipment, tooling, products and processes
•Ensure that all team members are following proper work instructions and FDA requirements
•Evaluate the production process to make any needed improvements to increase efficiency
•Develop a positive working relationship with all employees
•Establish a visible presence on the production floor throughout the work day while monitoring flow of product and addressing units on the floor which require repair or are waiting for parts
•Ensure all employees are working at their stations at start of shift and during all scheduled work times
•Observe for bottlenecks on the production floor and adjust personnel as necessary to maximize output
•Establish and maintain cross training where needed
•Effectively manage all day to day operations when Operations Manager is not present
•Assist with staff management including documenting and communicating objectives, positively impacting employee morale, motivating team members, conducting performance appraisals, and appropriately addressing individual or group performance issues
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
•Assist with assigning, training, and developing staff based on experience and departmental goals
•Assist with developing goals and objectives, and measuring outcomes to ensure goals are met
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Preferred Skills

•Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred
•Working knowledge of Visual Factory skills (5S, Visual controls, etc.) preferred
•Value stream management expertise preferred
•Working knowledge of error-proofing and pull systems preferred
•Root cause analysis skills preferred
•Lift/push/pull 40lbs

Required Experience

•At least 3 years of experience related to manufacturing or production as a lead or a supervisor
•At least 2 years of experience supervising at least 3 or more employees in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience

•At least 5 years of experience supervising 10 or more employees in a manufacturing environment preferred
•Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred
•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education

•Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a Business Management related field preferred
