Quality Team Leader

Description/Job Summary

To lead the Quality Inspection team, while supporting production goals and maintaining an efficient process

Responsibilities/Duties

•Perform final inspections and utilize the Matrix system and various measuring techniques on Special Order Form (SOF) units, base units, full-up units and seats

•Follow direction for the Material Review Board (MRB) for when an incoming inspection needs to occur

•Disposition rejected parts to the MRB

•Complete transactions in Oracle to disposition rejected parts

•Work as part of a team to effectively communicate daily results, concerns/issues and challenges to management

•Coordinate activities relating to the print-on-demand process and communicate items to management and/or vendors

•Assist with addressing initial quality investigations utilizing the Issue Investigation form
•Encourage positive communication among team members by establishing an environment that is trust-oriented
•Ensure conformance to order specifications and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations on final inspections in all specified/designated departments, work areas or production lines
•Utilize Pride Systems to coordinate and support daily production needs
•Direct team members in documenting daily production issues
•Coordinate efforts with Manufacturing Engineers to resolve Matrix/Production Ware issues
•Rotate appropriate personnel during absences where needed
•Order materials for daily usage in the Quality department

•Assist with Lean activities
•Daily coordination with the lead auditor for internal audits performed on finished goods
•Ensure tool calibrations are maintained and perform inspection on all test fixtures
•Assist in troubleshooting Quality issues to determine root cause and preventative action
•Assist in First Pass Yield (FPY) documentation and analysis
•Conduct regular safety and housekeeping audits
•Train new employees and cross-train current employees

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required Skills

•Read and interpret work instructions, work orders, inspection criteria, tape measures, and company policies and procedures
•Utilize GO/No Gauges

•Use hand tools and standard power tools

•Prepare and present summary reports
•Lift 40 lbs*
*Employees will be provided with assistance lifting in excess of 40 lbs (i.e. another employee, or a hoist)

Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
•Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Basic working knowledge in using calipers, micrometers and dial indicators
•Basic mechanical skills

Preferred Skills

•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel preferred

Required Experience

•At least 5 years of Quality Assurance experience OR at least 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector IV at Pride Mobility Products Corporation

Preferred Experience

•At least 1 year of experience reading blueprints preferred

•At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education

•American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification preferred
