Technical Writer I - Service Doc

Description/Job Summary

To produce accurate and timely print and online documentation that will assist Product Support Technicians and customers with the ordering of replacement parts and the troubleshooting of products


•Perform document content research and multi-task with Technical Illustrators, Engineers, Product Management and Technical Service
•Compile and maintain electronic and mechanical information for use in Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), trouble-shooting guides, and any other document that is necessary for the technical and operational support of our products and component parts
•Participate in Bill of Materials (BOMs) verification breakdowns

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Basic mathematical skills
•Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Skills

•Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Framemaker, Acrobat) preferred

•Basic understanding of electro-mechanical schematics preferred

•Familiarity with Solidworks 3D geometry renderings preferred

Required Experience

•At least 1 year of experience in an electro-mechanical technical writing or technical service environment

Preferred Experience

•Electronic, electrical or mechanical specialty experience preferred

•Graphic Design or Desktop Publishing and Layout experience preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education

•Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design or Technical Writing related field preferred
