Systems Integration Engineer

Description/Job Summary

To lead in designing new products and improving existing products in accordance with Pride’s procedures and protocols, including drive controls and programming, harnessing, electronics and electro-mechanical systems integration for assigned projects

Responsibilities/Duties

•Lead in harness building and design along with CAD generated, develop, release and revise electrical drawings for assigned projects

•Design and analyze control systems and electronic assemblies

•Lead in ensuring designs are safe, effective, and reliable while meeting quality system compliance for assigned projects

•Assist in soldering circuit boards, Surface Mount Devices (SMDs), reflow, and advanced hot air techniques

•Lead in ensuring designs meet Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives for assigned projects

•Design and analyze electro-mechanical systems and assemblies including actuator driven linkages, linear motion systems, and high load structural component as well as transaxles and gear boxes with both brushed DC and brushless motors

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

•Use hand tools (i.e. screwdrivers, crimpers, wire cutters, etc.) and standard power tools

•Read and comprehend work instructions and electrical schematics

•Travel internationally at least twice a year for up to 2 weeks at a time as required

•Prepare and present summary reports

•Lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs

 

Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•Basic knowledge working with Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electromagnetic Immunity (EMC/EMI) principles and techniques for immunity and suppression of electrical noise

•Working knowledge of Digital and Analog Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, and Test Equipment

•Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD engineering software

•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, and Excel
•Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

•Working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer preferred

•Basic knowledge of American National Standards Institute – Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (ANSI-RESNA) standards preferred

•Familiarity with ASTM and ISO standards preferred

•Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred

Required Experience

•At least 2 years of hands-on experience with designing, supporting, programming, prototyping and/or building electrical/electromechanical systems

Preferred Experience

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electronics Technology (ET), Computer Electrical Engineering Technologies (CEET), or a related field

Preferred Education

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred
