Description/Job Summary

To maintain and repair commercial sewing machines and upholstery equipment while performing preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment


•Make repairs and perform preventative maintenance on sewing machines and upholstery related equipment

•Inspect, operate, and/or test machinery or equipment to diagnose sewing machine/upholstery equipment malfunctions

•Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them

•Review, read and understand blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary

•Pick up repair materials from various locations as needed

•Other maintenance duties throughout the facility as assigned

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

•Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times

•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required Skills

Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Use general shop tools, drills, grinders, and standard hand and power tools
•Work independently with limited supervision
 •Push/Pull/Lift up to 40 lbs.

Must have:
•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
•A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•Basic working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and machine lubrication repair functions
•Basic working knowledge of specific brand industrial sewing machines such as Juki and United sewing machines
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Basic mathematical skills
•Flexibility in changing of work plans

Required Experience

•At least 3 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining sewing machines and upholstery equipment in furniture manufacturing or related environment

Preferred Experience

•At least 5 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining sewing machines and upholstery equipment in furniture manufacturing preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Preferred Education

•High School Diploma or GED
