Description/Job Summary

To support Research & Development by sewing cushions for production utilizing specialized sewing programs and machinery

Responsibilities/Duties

•Sew patterns for a variety of product applications
•Perform various tasks including organizing, cutting, gluing and assembling cushion material

•Review and understand the pattern drawings and cushion styles

•Understand and follow all Quality requirements

•Organize and maintain the inventory within the upholstery area

•Collaborate with Research & Development (R&D) Cushion team to assist in the design of upholstery, seating, cushions, pads, and packs
•Collaborate with R&D Cushion team to assist with determining the most appropriate fabrics and materials for the intended use of product designs

•Deliver completed cushions to the production floor, as needed

•Assist in the build shop with the assembly, repair and disposition of prototypes, as needed

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required Skills

•Must be a creative team player, professional, detail-oriented, and honest

Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

•Use hand tools and standard power tools

•Read and comprehend work instructions

•Use a table and band saw, and drill press

•Learn and develop skills to design upholstery, seating, cushions, pads, and packs

•Learn and develop skills to determine the most appropriate fabrics and materials

•Lift/Push/Pull 30 lbs

Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Experience

•At least 2 years of sewing experience in an upholstery shop or custom sewing/alteration environment

Preferred Experience

•At least 5 years of sewing experience in an upholstery shop or custom sewing/alteration environment preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•High School Diploma or GED
