Description/Job Summary

To perform basic machine operating and shop laboring tasks throughout the Research & Development Machine Shop


•Operate production machinery to cut stock materials to size for Machinists
•De-burr parts for production

•Inspect parts to assure they are within specified tolerance

•Count, package and inventory parts for production

•Prepare coolant for machines

•Load and unload tumbler

•Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks

•Cross-trained in other department functions as needed

•Keep shop floors, work area and machines clean and in good working condition at all times

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required Skills

•Must be a team player, detail-oriented, and honest

Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Operate a cold saw, band saw, and shear
•Cut material to 1/32” of specified size
•Use precision measuring tools
•Lift up to 45lbs*, push/pull up to 60 lbs
*Employees will be provided with assistance lifting in excess of 45 lbs (i.e. another employee, or a hoist)

Must have:
•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
•A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
•Strong mechanical inclination
•Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

•Basic machine repair and machine maintenance skills preferred

•Basic working knowledge of 2D CAD modeling software preferred

Required Experience

•At least 1 year of hands on experience operating machinery in a machine shop or manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience

•Previous work experience operating conventional and CNC machine shop equipment preferred
•Previous welding experience preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education

•Technical School Training in a related field preferred
