Description/Job Summary

To lead engineering projects, bring new products to production, and improve existing products, within the established time frames in accordance with Pride’s procedures and protocols


•Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers
•Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable and meet quality system compliance
•Facilitate meetings for product development and design reviews
•Facilitate productivity of multiple teams in an organized manner within Research & Development (R&D) such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting, Test Lab and Machine Shop
•Mechanical building and assembly of prototype products such as beta samples, show samples, and test samples when needed
•Capitalize on strong organizational skills to facilitate product transition from design to product release into production

•Assist and direct selection of materials for best application

•Assist in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems and assemblies
•Assist with developing, releasing and revising mechanical drawings and 3D models as needed
•Assist with performing inspections, verifications and validation testing as needed
•Meet and fulfill project timelines and budgets
•Assist in continuous improvements of design procedure and protocol to help drive design efficiency

•Construct and maintain project timelines and Design History Files (DHF’s)
•Develop familiarity with regulatory requirements to make compliance recommendations

•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management

•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Required Skills

•Must be skilled in time management and be a team player, professional, detail-oriented, and honest

Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Use hand tools and standard power tools

•Read and comprehend work instructions
•Prepare and build prototypes
•Prepare and present summary reports
•Travel domestically and internationally as needed for up to 2 weeks at a time
•Lift/push/pull 40 lbs


Must have:

•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement

•Basic working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer

•Basic knowledge of hand tools and standard power tools
•Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
•Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills

•Proven successful time management and organizational skills to plan, design and implement each stage of a project within specific time constraints

Preferred Skills

•Intermediate working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer preferred
•Basic familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation preferred

Preferred Experience

•At least 1 year of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environment preferred

•Experience with the specific products preferred

•RoHS/REACH preferred

•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Required Education

•Associate’s Degree in an Engineering or Technical related field OR High School Diploma with at least 6 years of project management, Research & Development, or Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced working environment

Preferred Education

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Science Engineering preferred

•Project Management Professional certification preferred
